Tuesday, December 7th at 6:00 PM. The Brighton Center for the Performing Arts. We are hard at work preparing this ballet that will be a premiere for Michigan audiences. Never before danced in Michigan, this ballet was originally choreographed by Joseph Hassreiter and restaged by Nikolai Tsiskaridze, principal of the Vaganova Ballet Academy in St. Petersburg, Russia. Set to gorgeous music by Josef Bayer.
Rehearsals are in full swing to bring this magical performance to life. This holiday children’s ballet tells of a little girl that gets locked in a doll shop on Christmas Eve. As she falls asleep, magical dolls from different countries come to life and dance before.
“This ballet is so diverse and really celebrates each country’s culture and national dance. We have dolls in this ballet from Spain, Austria, Russia, China, Japan, France, and many others. This is going to be a spectacular performance for anyone who loves Russian ballet or wants to take their family to finally see a live performance” – Tatiana Olson, repetiteur of ‘The Fairy Doll’
